. clearly that's not happening today. with regard to the incident yet. ntsb tells me they expect to have an update on that investigation later today. we were talking with airlines earlier today and they said, listen, dreamliner flights have continued as scheduled. we know there's an issue with the one that was just about to take off from boston. take a look at the number of issues we've seen with the dreamliner over the last month of remember, it was just at the beginning of november that united did the first domestic flight for the dreamliner. highly regarded flight, got a lot of attention. a month later an emergency landing in new orleans after reporting mechanical problems. a few days after that, cutr air had to ground 787 jets due to what they say was a faulty generator. united grounding four due to an electrical planl panel and a fire in boston. there's a lot of headline risk right now. >> they have confirmed it is a 787. i don't know if we still have that live shot available but let's put it up while we talk about this. there you go, logan airport. what do they have to do? they hav
investigation. jtsb within counterpart to ntsb out of japan, now says the battery involved in an incident over there was not overcharged. that's a reversal for them. meanwhile, ntsb is testing the lithium ion battery cells in washington, d.c. investigators are running multiple test at multiple locations. some at boeing in seattle, some at washington. they not continuing to peel back the onion looking for more, in terms of what is the cause between the dreamliner incidence. also in washington, there is discussion that u.s. senate is considering hearings to address the history of the 787 dreamliner. the t is in the discussion phase. the house of representatives, says it has no plans to hold hearings regarding the 787 and lij yom ion batteries. you mentioned shares of boeing moving higher. we want to show you eaton, interday. investigators in the uk are looking at fuel involves manufactured by eaton in the 787. there is discussion about what is causing fuel leaks with the graem liner. er with monitoring secretary lahood's speech in washington. he says anything regarding the dreamliner, we will br

in the news, a lot of people saying are there others out there. the ntsb yesterday gave an update in terms of where the investigation stands, including showing the media what's going on in the ntsb lab, seeing the charred batteries from the 787 dreamliner that was the one that had to be put out in boston. well, now they still say they do not know the exact cause of the batteries catching fire. as for those batteries and one other component, the charger, the charger for the batteries built by a company called secureaplane, a plant out in tucson, arizona. back in 2006, there was a fire involving lithium ion batteries for the 787 at the secureaplane plant. a worker there warned the company about the batteries and the chargers and the possibility of fires. >> these lithium ion batteries, too much heat and they'll explode. it will be a nightmare. >> michael leon was dismissed from the company for repeated problems on the job. secureaplane told me yesterday the battery charger for the dreamliner was successfully tested. there was a fire in the facility in 2006 during one test. however, the curre
's going to make a lot of people nervous. the ntsb is now investigating the 787 on the tarmac at logan airport yesterday morning, catching fire, after the plane had landed. the crew and the passengers had all deported. the fire was found in a compartment with batteries and electrical components. and again the passengers and crew were not on board during the fire. but this is the fourth incident since november or since december 4th where we've had a problem with the dreamliner. now remember united had its first domestic 787 flight back on november 4th. just a month later united had a flight from houston to newark, it made an emergency landing in new orleans. after experiencing mechanical problems, a loss of power. qatar air on december 9th said it grounded one of its 737 -- or 787s because of a faulty generator. similar problem, loss of power in flight. and then on december 14th, united grounds two of its four dreamliners due to problems with an electrical panel and then finally, yesterday you have the emergency crews responding to a 787 fire at logan airport. now the dreamliner, and th
in the united states, the ntsb continues to look at the japan airline 787 battery, but in reverse of what we're seeing in japan, they say this battery was not overcharged. the investigators are in arizona today visiting the battery charger manufacturer. that is a company called secure a plane. it's a subsidiary of mega plc out of the uk. over the last couple of days, that's seen a little bit of pressure as well. what we're seeing is an investigation where they haven't been able to square up what happened in japan with what happened in boston, so as a result, they're going to start diving further into the components that go into the dreamliner, and are connected and work with the battery to see if they can find out exactly what went wrong. and then from there, they might have a better sense of how to correct the situation. guys, back to you. >> now, phil, because these two regulatory agencies on opposite sides of the ocean are seeing different things in their investigation. does that tell you that the investigation may be much longer than anticipated? >> well, yeah, it would be different if o
